Peter’s second letter to all believers urges us to take great care. It impresses us with the need for personal diligence in ensuring that our calling and election is certain. It is one thing to say God has saved you and another to be able to examine yourself and to be certain that it is genuine. Make sure! Take Care! Stay awake! These trumpet blasts in the three chapters rebuke our carelessness and lethargy, our worldliness and neglect of our souls.
